“Our Story began in the fall of 2001 - I
had just retired & Colleen (a new Mom) left her employment to become a
stay-at-home Mom. Our desire was to experience our first “Rockwell”
Christmas & thus began our Christmas gift-giving project in Colleen’s
kitchen. Colleen & I started our education in Aromatherapy in 1996. Our
intention was not to begin a new career but to give ourselves another path
to wellness & fulfill an interest we mutually held.
Produced were soaps, lotions, salts & other
bath products. In our excitement, we produced too much & at the request
of friends & relatives, we began to sell our creations. Several months
passed, our enthusiasm grew & we decided to turn this “hobby” into a
viable business.
As this was family venture we chose the
name “Ballymoon” our ancestral estate in Ireland.
Marketing began by way of trade/craft shows
& home parties. |
|
We met our business coach,
Dawn Heartwell in March 2002 & Ballymoon began to accelerate its growth.
We quickly realized that in order to bring Ballymoon into the dream we
envisioned it was vital that we create alliances & obtain suppliers on a
more commercial footing.
Soon after we began working
closely with a cosmetic chemist & production of our formulas moved out of
the kitchen into the lab.
We have continued our close
relationships with Dawnie & the chemist, which has greatly contributed to
the success of our product line” - Fran Agar |
